MSG Allergy

MSG or Monosodium Glutamate is one of the chief food additives and known for the various food allergies. MSG actually is the flavour enhancer and should be taken as per the recommended. Overdose of MSG can lead to chest pain, headache, sensations of warmth and feeling of detachment in some people. Also in some cases there will be a running nose, watery eyes, sore eyes, itchy eyes, lip swelling, throat swelling, vomiting, itchy mouth etc. The symptom vary from person to person and severity of the problem. Also these symptoms may be associated with other reasons as well.

Sulfite Food Additive Allergy

Sulfite is the food additive that is added to food for crispness and to prevent the growth of molds. The symptom of sulfite food additive allergy is almost similar to that of MSG allergy. To treat the sulfite allergy avoid contact with allergens, change your diet or anti allergic injection can be taken.

Carmine Allergy

Carmine is the food color that is prepared from the Dactylopius coccus Costa, a dried insect. Carmine is used in various foods like popsicles, drinks, red yogurt etc.

Tartrazine Food Additive Allergy

Tartrazine is also called FD&C Yellow #5 and causes many reactions and allergies like asthma, urticaria (hives) and other such allergic reactions. It is found in cake mixes, commercial pies, chocolate chips, ready to eat canned puddings, flavored drink mixes etc.

Antioxidant Allergies

Antioxidants like BHA (butylated hydroxyanisole) and BHT (butylated hydroxytoluene) are reported to cause urticaria and angioedema.

Vegetable Gums Allergies

Vegetable gums like carageenan, acacia (Arabic), guar gum cause and worsen the asthma. Some also causes allergic reactions when used in food.

Annatto Food Additive Allergy

Annatto extract is the food coloring agent that is of yellow color. It causes anaphylaxis and urticaria/angioedema.
